While working on cmake I have added freetype support for the gd driver.
When I tested this with the examples though I got a floating point
exception in the freetype library. I thought it was something I'd done
wrong, so I went back and tested a version built using the old autoconf
/ automake build system and I got the same error. Has anyone else
noticed this? I'm sure it didn't used to be the case. This is on a
Debian stable machine.

Sorry, Andrew (Ross), for taking so long to answer this, but I have been
working on other CMake issues as you know.
I just tried this with both autotools and CMake and CVS HEAD, and I confirm
the floating point exception on Debian stable. I also tried the 5.6.0
versions of plfreetype.c and gd.c, and the problem still exists for that
(autotools) case as well.
Andrew (Roach), can you have a look at this please? If the freetype library
you have access to does not have this problem for the latest cvs version of
PLplot, then presumably the trouble is with some recent "fix" to freetype
rather than any problem with the PLplot code. Or there may be some
inconsistency between a recent fix to libfreetype and PLplot which you
can solve by adjusting the PLplot code.
