Hello, I've uploaded a new release candidate (http://homepage.mac.com/ hbabcock/). This incorporates the fixes to Python for OS-X (non fink) & the missing gcw files. It checks out on OS-X (./configure --disable- f77 --disable-wxwidgets --disable-octave) and debian. I'm still getting the following octave related error on OS-X (when I don't disable octave): LD_RUN_PATH=../../src/.libs:../../lib/csa/.libs \ mkoctfile -v -I. -I. plplot_octave.cc -L../../src/.libs - lplplotd `../../scripts/get-dependency-libs.sh ../../src/.libs/ libplplotd.la` g++ -c -I/usr/local/include/octave-2.1.73 -I/usr/local/include/ octave-2.1.73/octave -I/usr/local/include -g -O2 -I. -I. plplot_octave.cc -o plplot_octave.o g++ -bundle -bundle_loader /usr/local/bin/octave-2.1.73 -o plplot_octave.oct plplot_octave.o -L../../src/.libs -lplplotd -L/ Users/hbabcock/Documents/OpenSource/PLplot/plplot-5.6.0.cvs.20060424/ lib/csa -L/Users/hbabcock/Documents/OpenSource/PLplot/ plplot-5.6.0.cvs.20060424/lib/csa/.libs -lcsirocsa -lm -ldl -L/usr/ local/lib/octave-2.1.73 -loctinterp -loctave -lcruft -lcblas - lf77blas -latlas -lreadline -lncurses -lm -L/sw/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple- darwin8.0.0/3.4.3 -L/sw/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple- darwin8.0.0/3.4.3/../../.. -lm -lfrtbegin -lg2c -lSystemStubs - lSystem -lmx /usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.0/libgcc.a /usr/bin/ld: Undefined symbols: _plparseopts collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[4]: *** [plplot_octave.oct] Error 1 make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2 Reading the logs, it looks like Rafael tried to fix this by changing plParseOpts to plparseopts some time ago. Should it have been c_plparseopts? best, -Hazen |

I just installed octave on my debian box and it didn't have any trouble (which probably isn't very surprising to rest of you, sorry). Anyone have any ideas about what could be different? Thanks, -Hazen |

Still getting the weird error/warning for python. I also noted that the aquaterm driver wasn't created, although the aquaterm fink package is installed (including libs and headers). I'd guess that this is because aquaterm is only being looked for in / usr/local/lib/ & /usr/local/include/. I might be able to fix it to also look in /sw and you may also be able to set some other search path with the appropriate environment variable (AQTINCDIR & AQTLIBDIR?). Since I'm pretty hopeless at these sorts of things however, I'll hope that Per can provide more insight. Before we get too far however, can you check whether the fink version of aquaterm contains the Objective C Method (in AQTAdapter.h): - (void)addLabel:(id)text atPoint:(NSPoint)pos angle:(float)angle shearAngle:(float)shearAngle align:(int)just; Per added this relatively recently to AquaTerm, in part to handle 3D plots in plplot, and if it doesn't exist in the fink version then it'll just break anyway. best, -Hazen |

The current version of plplot in fink (5.5.3) has no problems finding aquaterm, nor gives it the weird python warning/error. Also for version 5.6.0, I need to add: SetCFLAGS: -I /sw/include SetLDFlags: -L /sw/lib for it to find certain packages. Again, this was not necessary for version 5.5.3 (as a matter of fact, fink already adds these paths by default). So I guess something has changed regarding finding files between the two versions. hth, - Koen. |

I am using the same aquaterm in fink (aquaterm-1.0.0-1002) when building plplot 5.5.3 or 5.6.0. - Koen. |

I looked over the changelog and I didn't find anything that seemed like it would have an effect on linking with AquaTerm. The relevant parts of the configure script also seem to be identical. It is not at all obvious to me what has changed to lead to this problem. -Hazen |

It's not only for aquaterm (also qhull for instance and the python warning), so it may be something more general. hth, - Koen. |

Works for me. I've submitted lasi to Fedora Extras and will build new FE packages for plplot 5.6.0 with psttf when it comes out and lasi has been approved. -- Orion Poplawski System Administrator 303-415-9701 x222 Colorado Research Associates/NWRA FAX: 303-415-9702 3380 Mitchell Lane, Boulder CO 80301 http://www.co-ra.com |
