I am using plplot 5.9.6 with gdl 0.9rc4. I am able to produce Greek lettering on
my plots, but the lowercase gamma is being displayed incorrectly. A test
printout of the whole alphabet shows that a lowercase xi is being output
instead. Any help would be much appreciated.

To help track this down, could you try to run examples 7 and 23?
If you look at our test results for those examples (see
http://plplot.sourceforge.net/examples.php?demo=23), the lower-case
gamma is displayed correctly using a number of different encoding
If examples 7 and 23 display lower case gamma correctly for you, but not your
own example, I suggest you try changing your own example to specify
lower case gamma using one of the encoding methods in examples 7 and 23.
If those standard examples fail to display lower case gamma correctly
for you, then there must be some issue on your platform that is not
present for our test (Ubuntu and also Debian) systems, and we will
obviously need lots more detailed information to give us a chance to
help you sort out what that issue might be.
