I have a real-time plotting application with multiple plots in one window that I would like to speed up some.  The code is

Is there a way to get to subplot 1 or subplot 2 without calling pladv and having the entire plot, axis, title, etc. erased?  Can I avoid having to recall plenv0 and pllab?  Is there a more efficient way to do real-time plotting?
