To generate this issue simply run

examples/c/x01c -save test_xcairo.psc -dev xcairo

The on-screen results from xcairo are fine, but the generated PostScript file has bad superscripts. If instead, you run

examples/c/x01c -save test_qtwidget.psc -dev qtwidget

the superscripts (and everything else) are fine with the generated PostScript file. Both xcairo and qtwidget deal with unicode fonts in similar ways so I believe the xcairo bug must be due to incorrect information being stored in the xcairo buffer that is subsequently replayed with -dev psc to generate the -saveD PostScript output

  • This appears to be fixed on my system, using revision 10867. Hazen updated the Cairo driver's text superscript and subscript handling relatively recently which may be what fixed this.

Alan, do you still see this issue on your system?
