Dear all, I would like to use both gps and odometry localization. Does anyone know how to do this? I want to compare the precise values of the gps with that of the odometry containing error/drift. I know that I can use either the one or the other, but I do not know how to use both gps and odometry localization. Any help would be deeply appreciated. thank you. |

Can you tell us more about your environment...from your post I would guess that you are using stage, can you tell us which versions of player and stage. 2009/7/24 swth dimas <phy...@go...> > Dear all, > > I would like to use both gps and odometry localization. At this moment I am implementing Extended Kalman Filter driver for localization, which combines both odometry (actually speed) with gps readings and (optionally) heading from IMU (compass). I guess this is one of the possible ways. If you are interested in this driver - please stay tuned. I have already working Matlab code and now I am debugging matrix operations in C++ Player driver... I hope this driver will be avaialable soon. P.S. I have choosen Blitz++ matrix library for the moment ( http://www.oonumerics.org/blitz/), not sure is this the best one to use. I was thinking about the GSL, but this is C library. Gslwrap (http://gslwrap.sourceforge.net/) nor Newmat ( http://www.robertnz.net/nm_intro.htm) are not packaged for Gentoo. Maybe Boost numeric it the way to go? I was also looking at the list on the Orocos website, http://www.orocos.org/orocos/related/33. Maybe anyone could recommand THE MATRIX LIBRARY? Hi Piotr, What device are you using for global positioning? Hi Paul, we are using Novatel SMART V1G antenna ( http://www.novatel.com/products/smartv1.htm) with OEMV-1G receiver (http://www.novatel.com/Documents/Papers/OEMV1G.pdf), version GPS+GLONASS, 1Hz output. We have choosen this model because it seems "better" (or at least higher priced...) than cheap GPS modules. It is specified to have better accuracy and in fact it performs quite nice.
