I have been attempting to get Player Stage running under RedHat 9.0. I think I have installed all the necessary components, at least I did an error-free installation. Now I am attempting to get the GUI running. So when I start stage I get the output listed below, but I don't get an GUI, or at least not one I can see. Any ideas? bash-2.05b# stage /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world =20 ** Stage v1.3.2 ** [World /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world][Include usc_pioneer.inc][Include pioneer.inc][Include beacons.inc] stage warning : worldfile.cc WarnUnused worldfile /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world:93 : property [size] is defined but not used =20 stage warning : worldfile.cc WarnUnused worldfile /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world:94 : property [origin] is defined but not used =20 stage warning : worldfile.cc WarnUnused worldfile /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world:95 : property [scale] is defined but not used =20 stage warning : worldfile.cc WarnUnused worldfile /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world:96 : property [grid] is defined but not used =20 stage warning : worldfile.cc WarnUnused worldfile /usr/PlayerStage/stage-src-1.3.2/worlds/everything.world:97 : property [showgrid] is defined but not used =20 ** Player v1.3.2 ** [Stage /tmp/stageIO.root.0] Troy Kelley U.S. Army Research Laboratory Human Research and Engineering Directorate AMSRL-HR-SE, APG, MD 21005 Tel: 410-278-5859 Fax: 410-278-9694 email: tk...@ar... |

So the simulator is running, but you can't see what's going on. Not as much fun as having a GUI. The likely cause is that librtk wasn't found when you configured and built Stage. Stage's configure script would have told you that on the console. To verify this, if you still have the Stage source unpacked where you built it, have a look in 'config.h'; I bet you'll find a line that says: #undef INCLUDE_RTK2 If so, then make sure that you've got librtk installed. E.g., if you installed in /usr/local, then you should find 'rtk.h' in /usr/local/include and 'librtk.a' in /usr/local/lib. If not, then you need to install librtk. Now, go back to where you unpacked the Stage source, remove the file 'config.cache', re-run configure (supplying the proper --prefix, if necessary), and re-make. Note that you can install anywhere, but you *must* supply the same --prefix argument to all configure scripts (i.e., librtk, player, stage). Btw, most of this is covered in our FAQ: http://playerstage.sourceforge.net/faq.html brian. |
