Cured this problem:
My-Computer:~/Programming/CS550/hw2 baudot$ g++ lab2.cc -o lab2 -lplayercli=
/usr/bin/ld: /sw/lib/libplayerclient.a(positionproxy.o) malformed
object, illegal reference for -dynamic code (reference to a coalesced
section (__TEXT,__textcoal_nt) from section (__TEXT,__eh_frame)
relocation entry (4))
/usr/bin/ld: /sw/lib/libplayerclient.a(laserproxy.o) malformed object,
illegal reference for -dynamic code (reference to a coalesced section
(__TEXT,__textcoal_nt) from section (__TEXT,__eh_frame) relocation
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
By applying this patch:
I can now compile successfully under g++, though not gcc (which throws
a different error).
I originally tracked that patch down from an older post, which
referenced an outdated URL. If that URL fails by the time you see
this, try starting at the root ftp address and tracing your way up the
tree. Most likely it's just a version number change.
On top of setting up some path environment variables (mentioned in the
last eMail) that seems to have done it for me. I think I have a
working player install now.
