I'm not sure I understand the exact trouble;
Are you having trouble using RTK, or player?
RTK is a library, and should end up in /usr/local/lib.

If you want to use RTK and stage and playerv and stuff, you will need
to have an X server. If you haven't seen the fink project yet, it's
quite useful: http://fink.sf.net
