Hey Folks, I had to build and install specific versions of player(2.1.2) and stage(2.1.1) for something that I'm working on. This is on a Macbook (Leopard). Installation was not a problem, however when I try to launch player I get the following error: dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/libLAPACK.dylib Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/vecLib Reason: Incompatible library version: vecLib requires version 1.0.0 or later, but libLAPACK.dylib provides version 0.0.0 [1] 52848 trace trap player This seems to me like something that has nothing to do with player, but I don't know how to fix it. Any ideas would help me a lot. This isn't a Player problem, there's some kind of library conflict on your mac. I don't use macs, but Googling for libLAPACK.dylib gave me [2]. If you're using macports perhaps it's a place to start. I deleted a new one and posted this one so that there is no confusion about what problem I'm referring to. And yes, you are right, its not a player problem because I get the same error when I try to launch VLC player via command line (I used to be able to do it). Nonetheless, my hope in posting it here was if some other people got similar errors. Hi Folks, I finally solved the problem and thought I'd share what I did in case anyone else faced the same problem. So, I have Macports installed on my Mac to enable to install various linux libraries that I need. Macports operates off of /opt/local/. However, the CPLUS include path or the LD library PATH (DYLD in mac) does not point to this directory. So, when I wanted to build player from source, I had to do this: export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/local/lib/ export CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH=$CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH:/opt/local/include/ This enabled me to build both player and stage from source on a mac. However, after installation when I tried to launch player I got an error (repeated here for convenience) dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/libLAPACK.dylib Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/vecLib Reason: Incompatible library version: vecLib requires version 1.0.0 or later, but libLAPACK.dylib provides version 0.0.0 [1] 55926 trace trap player According to https://trac.macports.org/ticket/26659 this link , exporting DYLD interferes with system libraries. So, I commented that out of my .zshrc (could be .bashrc) and when I launched player it worked! Please note however, I did need to set the DYLD path for building but not for launching player.
