Sorry about the (slightly) OT question, but here it is anyway ;-).
I'm using SICK LMS200 scanners outdoors and they work mostly fine, apart from
on grass, where they keep reporting false measurements that are much closer
than they should be (down to 10s of cm, when in fact it's more like metres)
for few measurements, now and then, seemingly at random. This happens on
short grass, dry (as dry as it ever gets around here, which is pretty damp)
I suspect this is due to multiple paths of the laser beam coming back to the
scanner when it is expecting the reflection from another beam of the scan (if
you see what I mean).
Have any of you experienced something similar and found settings in player (to
make it more relevant ;-) that would help the issue?
I know, I really should use LMS291's, but we have 200's that nobody apart from
me use, and don't have any 291's...
