I've been using Stage 1.3.2 to do robot tracking with
fiducial markers. We have a setup with four Pioneers,
each with a retro-reflective barcode on the back of
the SICK LMS 200. It works well in practice, but not
so well in simulation.
In stage, fiducial markers are always cylindrical,
even if placed on a "box". I tried to get around this
problem of having 360 degree barcodes by making a very
small box and placing it right behind the SICK LMS 200
(in simulation). But this has problems because
sometimes when the robot is oriented a certain way,
the fiducial box becomes invisible! It should be
visible from that pose.
Does anyone know a work around for this problem, or
does stage need to be extended to fix this?
