Right now, your best bet is to suspend (^Z) and then kill it manually (kill %1). I'll work on that. brian. |

Or avoiding it! (You know, the old trick where you put a script with the same name as a common command, or a common typo, in some directory and hope that root comes along and runs it by accident...) I guess you could just put a line in playerconf for each option, but this sounds like a neat solution. I may have to adapt the 'playerconf' script for some other projects, if that is OK with you. reed - -- Reed Hedges re...@ze... http://zerohour.net/~reed -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (Darwin) iD8DBQE/Vy5nFK83gN8ItOQRAgWZAJ9/CK84FKRIBJwRan3BT0NnpyliFwCfQI8F gL8jAOTVLUtjzrHrWt1Osb0= =gXfO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

On the other hand, you only get the one-line messages that are printed by './configure --help', which are less informative than they could be. And, yes, of course you can adapt it for other projects; if you improve it, please feed the changes back into Player (hurrah for the GPL!). brian. |

Solved. Replace: configout = os.popen('configure --help') with configout = os.popen('./configure --help') I guess popen respects bin paths. A.
