A common convention is that a single player server represents a single robot. Your server will provide your robot driver and your laser driver. Clients treat the laser's coordinates as a child system of the robot's coordinates. Player itself doesn't really have any concept of hardware hierarchies, it's all inherent in how the clients (which may be other Player servers) treat the data they receive.
