What I am saying is that AMCL also provides a position2d interface which you can use to see where AMCL thinks your vehicle is. Localize interface provides methods to check for particles etc.
Position2d on the other hand, gives only the pose estimation of the robot. X,Y and a yaw.

Position2d is visible on playerv while localize is probably not. It shouldn't be hard to implement so, though.
