I would guess that one of the gtk/gdk libs is missing from your system, stage will build without them, but wont include the GUI. Have a look at the configure output for anything gtk or gdk related.

Hello everyone,
I hope someone here can help me with my problem:

I installed the libraries, everything that Player/Stage needs. =
Afterwards i successfully './configure', 'make' and 'make install' =
Player and Stage without any error.

Now if i try to start Stage with 'stest' or 'player' i get the =
following:

-----
stest /usr/local/share/stage/worlds/simple.world robot1
Stage v2.1.1 test program.
 [Loading /usr/local/share/stage/worlds/simple.world][Include =
pioneer.inc][Include map.inc][Include sick.inc]
----

The program is still active, but no window pops up. Gui_diable isnt the =
problem. Also a configuration that works at the university isnt working =
at my home.=20
I am using Ubuntu 9.04.

Thanks for any help comming :)

Greets, Beowulf
