Hi,
I finally got round to looking at this. It looks like the colour checking code is no longer working, I am guessing the assumptions about the top byte of the colour not being used are no longer valid with some library update.

I fixed up the code in stage 2-1 svn brance. Is someone else able to test this and confirm it fixes it for them as well?

I just tried with the 2.1 branches of player and stage:
$ player stage/worlds/everything.cfg
$ playerv --blobfinder
playerv is not showing any blobs, which seems to confirm Andy's bug
report.  I haven't had a chance to dig deeper.
