Hi,
As I suspected the culprit was the FileWatcher. There was some unitialised memory when an array was resized (hence only seeing this after connecting to 5 or so clients.

Could you try the 2.1 branch of player SVN and confirm that this fixes the issue. Looks like there might be a 2.1.2 release out this weekend.

Hi,
I suspect that this is an issue with the new FileWatcher code I added to 2.1, I will see if I can reproduce it in the next couple of days. Thanks for the detail so far, if I am unable to reproduce it I will query for some more information.

Thanks... I had done that and even make clean and ./configure from a fresh
install weren't helping.  I ended up deleting all the libstage* and
libplayer* libraries in the /usr/local/lib default install and then
reinstalled which seemed to fix that particular error.  My guess is there's
a more elegant way to do this.

Player 2.1.rc2 / Stage 2.1.rc2 does indeed seem to run the above code
without any segmentation faults, so I will just use those for now.

I made another try for p2.1.1/s2.1.0 again using fresh installations from
tarballs and clearing out libplayer/libstage files from the /usr/local/lib/
.  Unfortunately, again the same segmentation fault error cropped up.

I'm unsure if this is a serious or reproducible enough issue that deserves
its own bug ticket, but I'd be happy to provide any more information that
can help with tracking it down in 2.1.1 or future versions.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions,

Anu
