Hi, Finally I can install the latest ati driver and frame drop just go down until 27 or 26 and the playerv window have a litle problem with the refreshing, this could be a problem whithin the dirver and the kernel version
because with a similar hardware(q9300, and 4g of ram) at work but ubuntu dapper version 0.8 oficial of gazebo work pefect at 23fps
I install the player 1.2. but the way I stil have problme with the definition of sonars in the gazebo.cfg file.

i run
test/./test --position2d
work ok
playerjoy works ok also
i will check that example, and also i will install a debian to see what happend

Hello,

Your system seems fine. If you run some client code that connects to
the player server (other than playerv), does the problem still happen?

There is an example program in gazebo/examples/player/position2d.
