Sorry if this turns out to be obvious, but how do you re-generate playerxdr.c with Python? We assumed that was handled by the usual build scripts (make clean, make, make install).

Did you rebuild libplayerxdr?  The auto-generated wrapper code
playerxdr.c should change when you change player.h (you need Python
to re-generate playerxdr.c).
