yup, after I got player working, Stage wont install as well. It came up with the same error message as Jim's and it has to do with gcc3.4.2. However, I noticed something wierd when I was configuring stage was that it showed me a warning like this:

checking for gtk-config... (cached) yes
checking for rtk_init in -lrtk... (cached) no
configure: warning: ***************************************************
configure: warning: Couldn't find RTK so I won't build RTK-based GUIs
configure: warning: Maybe you should download and install RTK?
configure: warning: If you have RTK installed, try --with-rtk=path
configure: warning: ***************************************************
Now, I believe I got libRTK installed properly because thats what A. Howard helped me do this morning (Thanx a bunch Dr. Howard if u're reading this). I just had to disable libavcodec during configure. But yeah, i dont how to get around the problem. of installing stage or if libRTK is even installed properly. Any suggestions?

Hi all,

I am working through compiling P/S/G on Fedora Core 3. I have made it
all the way down to compiling stage and then get the following result:

If I am following this correctly it appears to be a bug in gcc (version
3.4.2).

Any ideas or suggestions on how to work around this?

I will look for compiler/linker flags to possibly help this and the
player problem in amcl.cc line 149, I think. Not sure how to get the
libavcodec working again.

TIA
