same here. i both tried 2.0.2, and 2.1.1 but both failed to start. if i start if from explorer the system gives me:

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

In my case it didn't. :) cygwin says permission denied. what other information can i provide to help solve this? I did several installations in the past without any problem ever.

      thanks

It might still be if the installer and zip file don't include (according to a google search) the correct dll manifest.  This may relate to a switch to a different compiler, which requires us to distribute a new dll.

          Okan, does this sound plausible?

          Cheers

Maybe...Pixie 2.0.1 work fine, while Pixie 2.0.2 not.
Pixie 2.0.2 has some new dlls, not present in 2.0.1.
I've tried to overwrite 2.0.2 dlls with 2.0.1, but without success. So, probably, the problem is one of new dlls...

            regards,

              Has anybody figured this out?
Trying to run Pixie 2.1.1 installed with .exe installer on WindowsXP Pro SP1 Intel P4 3ghz.
Get "The system cannot execute the specified program." which in typical windoze style is extremely un-helpfull.
Thought of going to SP2 if it will work, but I really don't like SP2. Has anybody got this to work on a similar system?
This version of Pixie runs fine on my Debian system at home, any takers?

              Thanks in advance!

Someone may of already answered this somewhere else (I couldn't find it), but
to fix this problem you need the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package"
installed on your system. If your using SP1 they have a SP1 version also.
Of course you can get this from Micro$oft at:
              http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en

                Thanks for chasing this down.

Okan, can we ship this with Pixie (or in some way not require downloading of those libaries)?

                Cheers

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." (like beemtee has written).or simply "this program cannot be executed".

I'm wondering whether this relates to 64Bit compatibility of the machines?

Are the machines that work 64Bit compatible?

The code is both 64bit and 32bit clean, but I'm not sure whether the binaries that shipped are for 64bit or 32bit windows.

        Cheers

        George

Actually a quick google seems to indicate it's something to do with installer manifests and distributing libraries.

Can you confirm if you installed using the msi installer or the zip file?

        Thanks

        George

I've used the installer in both machines.
This night I'll try to use the zip version on pc that actually don't work.
I'll report you as soon possible.

Thanks you to investigate about this bug.

      Manuel
