Gendre,
Open-source is all about choice, and I believe that OpenShot and PiTiVi both have a place in the world.  I don't think it's fare to say that if OpenShot and PiTiVi merged, that our collective team would be twice as efficient, twice as fast, etc...  Attempting to merge our projects would likely set both projects back 12 to 18 months, and probably make a mess out of everything. =)  In addition, I think competition is very healthy, and a great motivator for both the PiTiVi and OpenShot developers.

Brian, I have lots of respect for the PiTiVi project and it's developers, and I wish the best for you guys!

Thanks!
-Jonathan

If you check the git version, we have most of those effects implemented and I think someone is working on titles. I also don't think there community would want to join ours because they say that they are the best.

But we can use code of UI from OpenShot. It exactly the same

And for video effect, the library using in OpenShot (frei0r) have
GStreamer plugin:

And we can merge communities.
