    Hello

Trying to make a connection with OpenOffice Base

I'm using the following connection and class strings

    jdbc:sanchez:/database=localhost:61012:SCA$IBS  (url)

    sanchez.jdbc.driver.ScDriver (class)

    OpenOffice reports success loading driver

OpenOffice prompts for user and password

I type in 1 as user and xxx  as password
    I get the following error:

    SQL Status: HY000

The connection to the external data source could not be established. An unknown error occurred. The driver is probably defective.

I can connect to PIP with eclipse just fine

    Thanks,

    Dave

      Dave,

It may be a problem with the URL. Can you specify the URL in the below format?

      protocol=jdbc:sanchez/database=localhost:61012:SCA$IBS

      Thanks
      Manoj

      Hello

      Thanks, That worked !!

Funny thing is OO gives you a prompt to fill in the url starting with jdbc:  so I ended up with this on the screen "jdbc:protocol=jdbc:sanchez/database=localhost:61012:SCA$IBS"

      Hello

Just a couple of problems, when I try to open a table in OO I get the following error:

ResultSet type can be ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE only

And I get the following when creating a table :  Host error number 104499300209701 Contact system manager

      Thanks,

      Dave

The ResultSet created by the current version of the JDBC Driver is always TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, read only and FETCH_FORWARD.

You'll have to take a look at the Profile side to see the error logged when creating the table.

        Thanks
        Manoj
