this was a first time I ever try to rearrange my buddy list and it was
full of lots of unexpected responses.
First was trying to create new buddy list categories. Apparently (as
far as I could determine from the user interface) the only way to create
a new category is to add someone and enter a new category name.
One surprise with buddy lists was that I found myself with duplicate
entries sometimes in the same category, sometimes not. to tell you the
truth, I don't know when they were created because my attention was
elsewhere. For example after creating my camram buddy list, I noticed
that the entry for es5ev was duplicated. Not only was the duplicated
but they had inconsistent state. One was lit up indicating an active
connection, the other was not. It took three or four tries to delete
the "unconnected" entry.
At first, drag-and-drop moving did not work but with persistence (and a
new category) it did.
After moving one of the entries, it gave me a state's syndication of
on sending a message to a friend, I was told "in local permit/deny".
auto reconnection doesn't always work and when the connection thinks
it's up but really isn't, it gives me the above message.
I've set my preferences to auto reconnect but don't tell me about it.
Just do it. It tells me about it and doesn't always do it.
It may just be that aim connectivity is flaky from here but the
connection goes dark on a regular basis and does not come back.
so I guess this means there will be a .82? ;-)
Speech recognition in use. It makes mistakes, I correct most
