This is something that we will likely face with the msn custom emoticons as well. luke ----- Forwarded message from Matthias Zimmermann <mat...@gm...> ----- Date: Sat, 14 Jan 2006 18:00:50 +0100 From: Matthias Zimmermann <mat...@gm...> To: lsc...@us... Subject: smilie theme files parser Hi, I made up my own theme file for gaim, which i think is a very cool feature in gaim, but I stumbled over a little Problem. There is an ICQ smilie which is transfered through the "*THUMBS UP*" emoticons. The problem with this is that *THUMBS UP* is not a single word, but consists out of two, which is pretty obvious. I tried to assign *THUMBS UP* to a smilie file but whenever someone sends me that smilie, the smilie will appear twice. Thats because the file parsers interprets *THUMBS as one version to transfer the smilie and UP* as another one. So if I send the smilie to one of my mates, the will just get the letters *THUMBS and no smilie. Unfortunately I couldn't convince them to uses gaim too and add *THUMBSUP* as one single word to their theme file. The rather stay with the standard ICQ Client. Is there any way like quotes oder braces or what ever I couldn't figure out to make GAIM interpret *THUMBS UP* inside the themefile as one version to tranfer that particular smilie? Thanks for your help, and sorry for my English. I'm German. Matthias ----- End forwarded message ----- |

In 2.0.0beta3, you can write it like this: *THUMBS\ UP* Richard |

In beta3 (maybe in beta2 as well), you can have blank-spaces inside a smiley definition. You'll need to escape the black-space with a \. So the theme file would look like: abc.png *THUMBS\ UP* Sadrul __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I haven't looked long enough, but I think custom smileys may not have this problem. -- Adil > ----- Forwarded message from Matthias Zimmermann > <mat...@gm...> ----- > > Date: Sat, 14 Jan 2006 18:00:50 +0100 > From: Matthias Zimmermann <mat...@gm...> > To: lsc...@us... > Subject: smilie theme files parser > > Hi, > > I made up my own theme file for gaim, which i think is a very cool > feature in gaim, but I stumbled over a little Problem.
