I noticed that the current CVS version won't work w/ GTK2.0. This patch makes it work :) The goal is achived by disabling the new "drop shadow to the buddy list tooltip" and "Smileys are copyable" functionality if the GTK version is < 2.2. I hope that you guys can get this in before the 0.72 release tonite! -Daniel <<restore_gtk2_0.patch>> |

I did a GTK 2.0 compile check... and there was one little issue: One piece of the fix so gaim can display --version or --help if X is not installed requires GTK+2.2. This patch will make gaim compile on 2.0 with the fix, the only difference is that w/ 2.0, if DISPLAY isn't set properly, the DISPLAY value will not display in the error message. If anyone knows an easy way to retrieve the value set to DISPLAY on initialization (under GTK 2.0) it would be nice, but isn't really important. -Daniel |

I intended to reply to this last night, but hostcentric is a horrible hosting provider in that their network sucks. This patch doesn't seem needed to me... A quick search for gdk_get_display_arg_name shows that the gtk docs think it exists in gtk2.0. http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gdk/gdk-General.html#gdk-get-display-arg-name So, er, someone should verify something, or something. Yeah. -Mark On Wed, 12 Nov 2003 14:16:38 -0500, Daniel Atallah wrote > I did a GTK 2.0 compile check... and there was one little issue: > > One piece of the fix so gaim can display --version or --help if X is > not installed requires GTK+2.2. > > This patch will make gaim compile on 2.0 with the fix, the only difference > is that w/ 2.0, if DISPLAY isn't set properly, the DISPLAY value > will not display in the error message.
