<snip> the "core" stuff like telnetd, ftpd, sshd, the kernel packages, XFree86 itself-- can and SHOULD stay "old" (read: time-tested) in a production system... </snip> <anit-telnetd rant> Whoa! Telnetd? In a production environment? I'm sorry but any one who uses telnetd at all is a complete fool and moron and deserves whatever evil wrath will befall them. </anti-telnetd rant> Seriously though, find one professional who is serious about their work yet running a telnet daemon and I'll show you a flying monkey. SSHD is far superior, in ways more than just encryption, but also easy interoperability between computers, remote command execution from the command line, command line file transfer, etc. Good luck, --=20 Bryce C <Plug@BryceCo.Net> CoBryce Communications |
