Jesus! The guy is not asking for a way to block multiple users, to block them at some specific time, based on the devil's will or anything like that. He is just asking for an easy and quick way to block buddies. Maybe he only wants to chat to work people, or vice-versa. So now people are telling him that this should go in a plugin. Fine. However, Gaim is not Firefox, finding plugins and installing them is too much of a hassle for common users. That is, if they know the plugin they want is available beforehand. Or that plugins exist. It is not as if Gaim is user-friendly enough already and a new context menu entry will hinder usability. And "those that want it" are the users. Unless they happen to be developers, they are not going to be able to maintain it. I agree that there should be a way to control feature creep. The question is: who gets to decide which features are important and useful and the ones that are not? Not the users, that much I know.
