Hi kids! We've been making a lot of progress recently towards making CVS HEAD more stable and usable (nice job everyone), and I think it's time to set some target dates for Gaim 2.0.0. October 31st - String freeze and feature freeze. By this date all major changes should be done. The next month will be bug fixing, making sure everything that works in Gaim 1.5.0 still works in 2.0.0, and maybe even some documentation (organizing the ChangeLog, for example). November 27th - Release. (This is the Sunday after US Thanksgiving.) It's possible this date will slip... but we WILL release by the end of the year. At some point after we freeze Sean would like to release a beta to the public so we can get feedback from the masses and make sure people don't hate the new status UI, etc. What does all this mean? It's Crunch time. And in 7 hours it will be Cap'N Crunch time when I wake up to go to work. -Mark |
