Each time I start a conversation, all the messages I send until the other person replies have 3 blank lines in them. Messages sent after the other person replies are fine.

(It is possible that this is just a bug with the OTR plugin, which because of Bug 2707153 hasn't been disabled usually.)

Which protocol is that? I don't have this in ICQ, Jabber or IRC (that are the three protocols I am using).

(Btw., for the version, also say which release version exactly, e.g. I assume that is 2.5.5 ver2. I should perhaps also add that information in the build itself.)

Oh right, I should have mentioned the protocol: it's on Jabber/XMPP, specifically Google/Gmail accounts.

If you could reproduce this by IMing your gmail friends (who are not using Pidgin/OTR, just gmail or the other Google client, say), then we would know it's a valid bug.

And yes, it's 2.5.5 ver2—I just looked in Help->About, so it would be useful to add the information in the build, yes :-)

Hm, can you report that upstream? This seems to be a Pidgin problem, not really related to this MacOSX port.

  • Yes, I was able to fix this by disabling the OTR plugin (well, this is not possible, but setting in the plugin's preferences to do nothing). So it's probably not related to this MacOSX port, but on the other hand it can't be reported to Pidgin either, since OTR is not distributed with Pidgin. Since I don't use OTR, I think I'll leave it at this :-)
