I'm using Gaim v0.68 with the v2.10 plugin on Windows.

One system is Xp sp1, the other system is Xp sp1

with a 4096 bit key on both Gaim clients, successful
key negotation takes place, but every time one client
transmits a encrypted message to the other client, the
receiving client crashes. Backing off to a 2048 bit
key works just fine.

I'll take a look at this when I get a chance- I suspect that
the same bug may be causing crashes when very long messages
are sent to the windows client.

Finally got around to testing this on my WinXP system, with
Gaim 0.71-Encrypt-2.15. 4096 bit keys worked fine for me
there. Either this was a bug in Gaim (with long messages)
that got fixed, or it is system dependent. Lemme know if it is
still broken for you with 0.71-2.15, otherwise I'll go ahead
    and close this bug.

I just tested here with Gaim 0.71 Encrypt-2.15 and I still
have the crash with 4096 bit keys when receiving a encrypted
message on both the XP sp1 systems I have tested on (I'm
chatting with myself with 2 different yahoo ID's for
testing). Both clients will crash when getting a message
with 4096 bit keys. One client was just upgraded to
0.71-Encrypt-2.15. One was a completely fresh install.

Ah, you're using Yahoo! That makes a difference.
4096 bit keys won't work with Y!, as the message limit size
is too small. It _is_ a bug that it causes a crash, but
even once the bug is fixed, you'll have to stick with
    smaller keys.
