This made me think of a question. How easy is installing a new version? Obviously it is really easy to overwrite the files on the server but when I do that will it get the right database information (assuming I setup the pem-config.php to have the same database, username and password)?

In all of these updates I've made no changes to the database tables, so all you need to do is replace the files and save/update the config file. If you installed without the example data, replacing the files would be pretty much the same as starting from scratch. The main issue is if you are using the example data during the install, then doing a fresh install will give you new settings for permissions and field handling that are better.
