Support for authentication via NIS (ie yp_match()) would be useful for those of us in a unix environment without ldap.

Will be included when time permits. How about File against a .htaccess or a fake /etc/passwd in the meantime?
if you need it badly you have to write it yourself. I currently have no access to a machine with this pecl and NIS environment to test.
