Sounds like a -user discussion. I think offering packages is a so-so
idea, as package management becomes problematic, and there are many ways
to install phpslash, the package manager could only do one.
I think the best way would be to write a bash script that did took the
place of the postinst functionality of rpm, which could be included in
both rpm's, .debs, etc...
Essentailly it'd determine if you were rnning as root, do a root setup and
modify the apache config, else generate the correct .htaccess files, and
then do a similar setup for the MySQL tables (if $root then create, suck
in, else ask for database name, user, password yaddah yaddah)
If we have a Bash expert in the house they could do it in an hour or so, I
could do it but it'd take a few days :)
