    Hi, When trying to run either install.php or index.php, I receive the following errors:
    [11-May-2014 00:36:08] PHP Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /monitor/install.php on line 32
    [11-May-2014 00:36:08] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /monitor/install.php on line 32
    [11-May-2014 00:36:13] PHP Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /monitor/index.php on line 32
    [11-May-2014 00:36:13] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /monitor/index.php on line 32

    Can you tell me how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Sally,

    Your PHP version is not supported by PHP Server Monitor. You need at least PHP 5.3.7 to run the monitor. Your version is older than PHP 5.3 because it does not support namespaces, which causes the errors you see.
    You will either need to upgrade your PHP version, switch hosts, or switch to phpservermon version 2, which is compatible with older PHP versions.

    Regards,
    Pep

    I'm using PHP Version 5.4.24. Is something else causing this error? Is there a way around it? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Sally,

    You really should not get this error with PHP 5.4.24.. Could you create a file with the following content, run it and post the results here?

    From phpservermon 3 and up namespace support is required. The only other option would be to install phpservermon 2.1 instead..

    Pep

    Hi Pep,

    Thanks for you help. You suggested I "create a file with the following content", but I'm unsure what content you want in the file.

    I appreciate your help!

    Hi Sally,

    It seems the content was stripped from my reply. Let me try again:

    <?php
    phpinfo();

    You can also send them by email if you prefer not to post them on a public forum (ipdope@users.sourceforge.net)

    Regards,
    Pep
