phpPgAdmin 3.0 Released
3rd July 2003
The phpPgAdmin project is pleased to announce the final 3.0 release.
phpPgAdmin 3.0 has been rewritten from scratch over the last year in order to address many of the problems with the 2.4 codebase. In particular, phpPgAdmin is now largely immune to your PHP settings regarding register_globals and magic_quotes.
Now that we have a solid base with good functionality, we will move toward adding more advanced features in 3.1 and beyond.... read more
The Release Candidate of phpPgAdmin 3.0 is out. The software is now very stable and usable in production.
This release is to test the new look & feel and a few enhancements since beta-1.
This beta release represents a feature freeze and a translation strings freeze. If you are a translator, now is the time to update your translation.
Please submit ALL bugs that you find so that we can make the final 3.0 release as rock solid as possible. Most importantly, please test the new tree menu applet.
We intend to do a final release in a week or two.
After that, the plan is to add lots of new features for 3.1.
We are proud to announce further phpPgAdmin development. Look for a few new translations, heaps of bug fixes, and several new features.
The phpPgAdmin project is proud to announce a new development release of its 3.0.0 software. The biggest improvements have been in our foreign language support. As well as French, Japanese and Russian translations, all our translations work better and we've fixed a lot of small bugs. phpPgAdmin is a fully functional web-based administration utility for a PostgreSQL database server. It handles all the basic functionality as well as some advanced features such as triggers, views and functions (stored procs).
This new version builds upon the foundation of the previous development release. We have added many new features and have fixed many bugs.
Most improved is our language support. All actions now work with Chinese and Polish languages. More translations are welcome.
The phpPgAdmin project is proud to announce that the first phpPgAdmin 3.0.0 development release is available.
The phpPgAdmin 3.0 series has full support for all the new features of PostgreSQL 7.3. However, we have not yet ported all the features from phpPgAdmin 2.4.2, so evaluate it before you commit to it.
phpPgAdmin 3 has been renamed from WebDB 0.6.5, but otherwise it is the same code.
WebDB 0.6.5 was released today. It has a VAST number of improvements and fixes over 0.6, but it is still a development release.
The developers have decided to rename WebDB to phpPgAdmin 3.0 and future released will become 3.0 development releases. Expect many changes to the code before we hit a 3.0 release.
The decision to change the name back to phpPgAdmin was made so as to capitalise on the existing popularity of phpPgAdmin.
WebDB 0.6 is suitable for day-to-day use for basic PostgreSQL features. Please try it on your version of PostgreSQL so we can check its compatibility.
WebDB is the successor to phpPgAdmin. It is designed to work around many of phpPgAdmin's deficiencies. It just barely supports PostgreSQL 7.3.
There is a new CVS module named 'webdb' that is due to replace phpPgAdmin. It will support PostgreSQL 7.3. Please check it out and help us finish it off!
The phpPgAdmin team is pleased to announce the most recent maintenance release -- 2.4.2.
Release 2.4.2 now includes the ability to run phpPgAdmin in an environment with PHP's register_globals setting turned off, the default for PHP 4.2x.
Also included is several fixes and updates for PostgreSQL 7.2, including new ACL (privileges) values. Another enhancement makes it possible to have edit/delete buttons after a manually entered query.... read more
