I have small dilemma, wondering if someone there could shed light or take this as a feature request. I have phpPgAdmin-3.0.0 on a machine that has PostgreSQL 7.0.2 and PostgreSQL 7.2.3 on port 5433. When logging into the PG server from another machine which only has PostgreSQL 7.2.3 on port 5432, all works fine. But if I try to login on the localhost, the server with 2 versions and 7.2.3 on port 5433, login fails unless I allow 'password' authentication in pg_hba.conf. It seems the local server may be using 7.0.2 utilities to communicate with the database that do not support 'md5' authentication. Again, from a second server with only PG 7.2.3, I can set the authentication to 'md5' and it logs in fine. Any suggestions on how I could get around this. I tried backing up the psql binary and creating a symlink to the 7.2.3 psql binary, but no luck. Thanks:) Sent via Contact Form on phppgadmin.sourceforge.net |
