No

If the email of a manual backup fails (haven't tried a
scheduled backup), no error is reported, just blank
output. But two backup files are created.

ok, I looked into this much further. It turns out the
    file(PMBP_EXPORT_DIR.$attachments[$i]) call in the
PMBP_email_store function in functions.inc.php was failing.
So I replaced that entire inner loop with a call to
    file_get_contents(PMBP_EXPORT_DIR.$attachments[$i]) and
    received the php error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted
(tried to allocate 3852861 bytes) in
    /var/www/phpMyBackupPro/functions.inc.php on line 809

Once I increased the allotted memory size (either through my
php.ini file or through an override in my .htaccess file), I
    no longer got the error.
