hello,
i am using phpMyAdmin to admin my MySQL DB. Its a
great tool. Just one problem. My website is self
sustaining, so i rarely do anything besides answer e-
mails. But yesterday i got bored and went in and looked
at my Tables. PMA 630 rows. This got me worried
because this table stores my user login info for all my
users, well over 6000 users. I quickly write my own tool
to output the number or rows in that table and it says
6874. Why isnt PMA not show them all? is this a known
bug? is there a fix? Is PMA not meant for large
databases?

thank you for your help,
Matt

Which version of phpMyAdmin? In current version, there is
some code to show the exact row count for InnoDB tables
(see $cfg['MaxExactCount'] in the config file and the doc).

sorry for not responding. but i do not have the server running
on my actual machine, i rent space and it comes with cPanel,
which uses phpMyAdmin. So i was just wondering if this was
a known bug, which it seems to not be. So i guess i will just
have to write my own scripts not instead of using
    phpMyAdmin, no biggie.

    thanks for your help,
    Matt

    Matt,

I would like to know if your table is InnoDB, this would
help finding the cause of the problem for you and others.
I am using phpMyAdmin with large databases and have no
problem with this. I understand that CPanel is configuring
phpMyAdmin for you, but you could always install your own
copy of phpMyAdmin into your web space,
with the correct value for $cfg['MaxExactCount'], if this is
    the problem.
