1. prepare a table as follows in mysql:
CREATE TABLE `test_bug` (
`idtest_bug` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
`test_bug` varchar(45) DEFAULT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (`idtest_bug`)
)
2. INSERT INTO `test`.`test_bug` (`test_bug`) VALUES ('test\\backslash');
3. in phpMyAdmin, in inline edit, change the table, eg add the word go at the end
4. click save and note the generated SQL does not escape the backslash:
UPDATE `test_bug` SET `test_bug` = 'test\backslash go' WHERE `test_bug`.`idtest_bug` = '1' AND `test_bug`.`test_bug` = 'test\backslash'
