Only 8 of the 9 South African provinces are correctly marked on the places map. On the current version of the map the North West province is merged with the Northern Cape. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_West_Province
Unfortunately this highlights a problem with any map - what date is it supposed to represent? Today, or a date at some pint in the history of the people in the tree that lived there?
The issue here is that the SAF map included in PGV is not accurate for any period in South African history from 1652 to date. I would not have raised an issue if either a correct current or correct past map was included. The map appears to be a post 1994 map. In 1994 the then 4 provinces were replaced by 9 provinces. The provincial borders of 7 of the post 1994 provinces are correct, but the provincial border that separates the Northern Cape from the North West Province is missing.
This is therefore not a question of a map of which date, but a map that is incorrect for any date.
The problem is fixed in SVN. Please check if the problem has been
solved and let us know.
