Submission/display of post-mortem solns

It would be really nice if visiting the post-mortem
leaderboard
after a competition is closed not only showed all the
solutions
submitted during the competition, but any solutions
discovered
after the competition which would have won the
competition had
they been entered during it. Of course it would make
sense to
highlight them in a different colour.

I propose that the solutions be allowed to be submitted
in the same
manner as during the competition, with the extra rule
that the solution
*must* be a better score than the winner. Any attempts
to submit
solutions worse than the winner would result in an
error page which
explains that the competition is now over. The
solution would get
sent to the referee(s) in the normal manner for
approval. Given the
difficulty of beating the alien who won the hole, I
don't envisage the
referee(s) getting swamped with email as a result of
this new feature.

The Problem:

PGAS has a cool feature that the referee can add a
comment to the accepted/rejected email message.
However, since the referee might not respond for a
while after the user submits his message, the context
of the ref's reply is lost. For example:

User adds comment to submitted solution: "Not sure. Is
that last part legal"
Ref replies "Yes it is"

But the user does not see his own comment, so the ref's
reply may be obscure.

The Solution:
Print the user's comment in the accept/reject email.
Possibly even print the user's solution in that email
too. I'm probably not the only one who has forgotten
which solution he last submitted...

It was suggested on the mailing list, and it might indeed make the game more entertaining for the
watchers: when submitting a solution, it could be fun to be able to enter a one-line comment. A
little something to vocalize the joy of having crossed the 100 mark, of the despair of still being 40
strokes behind the leader.

Sort leaderboards

I don't know if this is a good idea or not...

Say the leaderboard is divided into Teams, Veterans,
Beginners and Sandtrap. In what order should they be
displayed? Here are some possibilities:

1) Teams, then Vets, then Beginners, then Sandtrap.
That is the most likely ordering for lowest to highest
score.

2) Vets, them Beginners, then Teams, then Sandtrap.
This de-emphasizes the Team score, which may be
considered a BoB by purists.

3) Dynamically sorted by whichever board has the lowest
score. It will usually end up sorted by #1 above, but
what an upset it would be if the beginner board was
ahead! Fun!

4) Site-configurable.
