The labels do not seem to accept japanese characters
in Shift JIS encoding. Even if I set the character
set to 128 (which is the value for SHIFTJIS_CHARSET)

    I've re-assigned this as a feature request, as the current
    codebase only supports the ANSI versions of the windows
    controls. Rob.

    Win32::GUI currently uses the ANSII version of the common controls library. I doubt that we will add Unicode to the current codebase.
