    How to update default lists in pgl? Does pgl update them on its own somehow, if so, is there some indicator that the lists are actually up-to date?

      Either in /etc/pgl/blocklists.list or with pglgui.
      If you didn't deactivate it, the cron job runs an blocklist update every day.
      You can check /var/log/pglcmd.log or the mail of the recipient specified in CRON_MAILTO (per default this is root, but you may specify any other local e-mail address or real e-mail if you set up a mail system. Just set
      CRON_MAILTO="your-e-mail@example.com" in /etc/pgl/pglcmd.conf
      Finally you can check the blocklists themselves in /var/spool/pgl/*/downloaded/
