PearPC won't start, when configured to use a real
CD-ROM device.

From PearPC configuration file:
pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1
pci_ide0_slave_image = "/dev/cdrom"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"

In this case, PearPC starts and boots well, when a CD
is inserted, however it won't start, when no media is
inserted.

PearPC exits with the following reason:
[IO/IDE] <Error> /dev/cdrom: could not open file (No
medium found)

This isn't a serious problem anyway, but it schouldn't
happen.

    PearPC currently can't be configured to use a real cdrom
    device. The /dev/cdrom is just a hack, it will fail
    miserably if you eject the cd while using PearPC. And it
    doen't reflect the real CD contents (TOC, subchannel, etc)

    Hi,
    I'm experimenting a bit more with this one in winxp, but so far
    ppc will boot the cd drive with an iso image of mac panther
    disc 1 in the drive. It's actually a dvd-+rw drive [sony
    dru500a] and the iso is recorded on dvd-rw media.

    No time to go any further than a boot so far, will report back
    here after some more tests.

    Sorry, misread this to start with. Booting/mounting an iso
    image on a cdrom is ok, anything else won't work, at least
    not on current win32 build.
    Installing panther from iso on cdrom works fine.
