Reducing priority of this request pending further follow-up by the requester on what the specific proposed feature would entail. An example of use and purpose would help. I note that better response is possible for Feature Requests with "live" POC information attached.

No POC or further information on this request. This
request is 6 years out of date. Active feature requests
need to have a live POC and be relevant to the
current release versions of PDL. Thank you.

After thinking about this some more, I think it may make sense
in the context of the planned/hoped for refactoring of the PDL
    PP engine.

@David: can you answer greg's question and opine on whether the functionality is needed/useful/implementable? Please comment and update this FR ticket as appropriate. I.e., if there is an easy way to change the output class, would could close this ticket and document the solution.

I believe this is already provided by pp_bless. That lets you specify the class into which your PP code gets hooked. The default is 'PDL', for obvious reasons. I suppose the documentation should be expanded to make this clear. For an example, see the code for PDL::Complex, located in the Basic/Complex/complex.pd

As such, I believe I can close this ticket. I'll put it on pending to give others a chance to speak up.
