I think, the patch is OK, though I wonder if it is possible to make rather 
just GString::getCString a const method?

Once the patch is committed, I can add the functionality in GUI, scripting 
and in commandline interface.
I wonder - will we have just two functions (delinearize, flatten) or would 
it make sense to let the script choose what actually gets written to PDF 
and what not (could someone reasonably use that functionality if it would 
be exposed to scripting)?
