Mark,

I have a pthread.h but NO pthreads.h on this solaris
2.8 machine. I changed this and tried to continue. Now
I'm getting the following:

Also, your Makefiles referr to x11/thread/ "things" but
this directory does NOT exist.

    The code for thread support was removed from the 2.5
    release because it was not implemented completely. The --
    with-threads switch was removed from the configure help,
    but not the actual configure script.
    Simply don't use --with-threads, until it is supported and
    announced as supported.
