Note:
The same setup works nicely on win2k, on the
same machine (inspiron5000e)
Specs:
kernel 2.2.19
aicxxx v. 6.1.13 (latest version on gibb's site)
pcmcia 3.1.29 (latest?)
Ibm DDYS 10k/4MB cache Disk
Problem:
The Cardbus adaptec card gets recognized OK as ID 7, and the IBM disk too gets recognized OK at ID 1, but the whole thing stalls after the Scsi driver sets the Queue length/depth- there is no more output in the log after that ... The disk gets recognized but doesn't power up, neither the partitions get mounted
I have my scsi.opts ok I think, to mount the ext2
partition.
I have tried to jumper the disk to spin-up automatically, but it makes no difference at all..

Do you mean your system locks up, or just that the SCSI driver stops responding?
Can you show an excerpt of your system log that includes the startup messages from the PCMCIA drivers, and the SCSI driver startup messages?
